Norman Naval Bases

In 1942, the Department of Navy established two Naval Bases in Norman to train servicemen and women in naval air and naval maintenance to contribute to America's involvement in WWII. Below of photographs of the two bases. (Abbreviations-- Naval Air Station, NAS; Naval Air Technical Training Center,  NATTC. )
