What's in the Newspaper? Topical Articles from the Norman Transcript
Listed below are Norman Transcript articles that chronicle the history of Norman.  A very diligent individual at the Norman Chamber of Commerce clipped newspaper articles daily from the Transcript and pasted them into albums . The collection of albums start in the 1930s and end in the 1970s.  As time permits, these very valuable, historic, newspaper clippings will be added to this page in a topical order.  

 In the early 1950s, the Little River that ran through eastern portions of Norman was considered a good source for water for an expanding city. The Little River was dammed in 1958 to create Lake Thunderbird. The following link provides Norman Transcript articles pertaining to the establishment of Lake Thunderbird.
